Repurposing Center for Energy Transition (ReCET)
ReCET is the new center for repurposing fossil energy infrastructure for energy transition applications especially in energy communities.
ReCET efforts cover Technology Development, Engineering Design, Socioeconomic impacts, and outreach activities for smooth and successful repurposing of existing fossil energy assets.
The primary focus of the center is on:
- Abandoned Oil and Gas Wells
- Abandoned Surface and Subsurface Mines
Thermal Energy Storage (TES), Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), Hydrogen storage, Clean Cooling, Heating and Drying for Industrial Processes, Geological carbon sequestration, Integrated Renewables for Greenhouses, etc.
